Join us for an unforgettable Samaria Gorge tour—one of Crete’s most iconic adventures.
We start early with a stop in Skaleta for breakfast before heading to the Omalos Plateau in the White Mountains.
The hike begins at Xiloskalo and covers 18 km through one of Europe’s longest and most scenic gorges. The trail, which follows the ancient river Taras, takes about 6–7 hours to complete and offers breathtaking landscapes.
Along the way, we pass wartime shelters now inhabited by the Cretan wild goat (kri-kri), and stop at the abandoned village of Santa Maria, a peaceful spot in nature. Near the end, we reach the Iron Gates—Sideroportes—the gorge’s narrowest and most dramatic point.
The hike ends in Agia Roumeli, where you can swim, relax, or enjoy lunch by the Libyan Sea. Later, we take a boat to Sfakia, where our bus brings you back to your hotel.
We offer you a free pick up service from Agia Pelagia to Malia. After you have booked your tour, we will let you know the exact place and time of pick up by email or phone.
